From The Ridge.

Peats Ridge festival has been lovely. I've had a great time with a fantastic group of friends, and taken the opportunity to catch up with plenty of familiar faces (Circus Avalon, that would mostly be you..).

I also managed to put on a good show last night - my routine to 'Pure Imagination' was well received, and it is definitely one that I would like to add to my regular repertoire.

I am, however disappointed with Peats Ridge Festival in a very specific way. You see, this event sells it's self as a sustainability festival, but I am remarkably unimpressed with the effort being put in in this regard. Yes, they encourage people to separate their rubbish, and they're sponsored by a carbon neutral beer (which is the only swill they sell), but it seems like a token gesture for a festival of this size.

I need to investigate this matter further before I post additional info, as I would rather not post misinformation on this blog. There is a future post on this matter in the works.

Anyway, enough of that! I wish you all a lovely night and a happy new year.

Be well,
C.

The Most Maniacal Time of the Year.

It's that time of year again!

The solstice is has come upon the earth, aligning the stars, and allowing malign eldritch horrors to rise once more, spreading their sanity-eroding christmas cheer.

The ancient and fell reindeer god, Sthantha Khlouss, has awoken. Clad only in the bloody skins of freshly flayed reindeer, It is making It's rounds. It traverses the world, bending the very fabric of time and space in order to deliver billions of boxes wrapped in brightly colored slivers of dream and nightmare.

But one must remember, that this time of the year is not just about barbaric deities delivering gifts in ways that defy euclidian logic. No, it's much more than that. The solstice is about losing your sanity with those you hold dearest. Your friends, family and inner monsters.

If you know where this comes from, post in the comments!

So gather your loved ones and gorge yourself on food and flavored ethanol. Fill your body with delicious christmas spices. Pickle your innards. Cthuhlu wants you to. It makes your soul delicious.

Merry solstice everyone! May your days be full of madness, and your dreams be lucid and eery...

It Begins...

Another year has passed. 24 cycles of my life have occurred. 24 winters and summers 8,765 days of life and love, strife, sin, sibilance and succor.

And here I am.

It was an intense year:

  • I have moved house twice
  • I've loved and almost lost
  • I spent 8 months living in the most crazy and interesting abode I have ever encountered
And through it all, I've grown closer to a wonderful and eccentric group of of friends. This city has become my home, with all of it's glory and horror. It's streets and train tracks have etched themselves into my mind, and it's people have forged a place in my heart.

This year has seen so many wonders; The Arab spring, the populace-driven revolutions of Egypt and Libya, and the birth of the world-wide anti-corporate movement, under the banner of Occupy.

This same coin has a darker side; The assault on Wikileaks, the Egyptian Military's refusal to relinquish judiciary power, and laws being put in place in America that could easily path the way for the most frightening, violent and oppressive regime that this world has seen since Nazi Germany it's self.

Whatever happens, wherever we go, the future will be interesting. We each have our parts to play within it. The actions that we take, both as individuals and as a species, will echo through the halls of history.

The world is ours, if we chose to create it.

Best of luck in your endeavors,
C.

Testing on-the-go functionality.

Righto! I'm testing updating from my smartphone. I will largely be using this feature to post work in progress while I'm in the workshop.

Happy travels!
